#1 favorite Kitchen tool: VITAMIX.
I've got the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) version. It was 20% off @ BB&B at it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! I use it almost every single day.
Examples: Put almonds in it and 10 seconds later you will have almond flour. Or, add agave nectar, EVOO, or peanut oil for instant homemade almond butter. I've made peach sorbet, hot soups, and pureed steamed/cooked veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes, carrots) for soups/casseroles. Check out my recipes page for my Vitamix ice cream and spinach smoothie.
The options are endless! If you don't want to spend the money, the Ninja is a good substitute.
I opted for this for my wedding gift (rather than a Kitchenaid mixer, so I cannot speak on how great that is).

Kitchen Scale. Especially if leaning out/cutting, weighing/measuring portion sizes is KEY!
Keurig! It's not really a kitchen "tool", but we love it and use it daily. Best prices for k-cups are the Kirkland k-cups (bold or breakfast blend) at Costco. Breaks down to about 38 cents/cup.
Pizza Stone!!! For the crispiest, healthiest, homemade whole wheat pizza (see recipe on "recipes" page!)
